The K-pop landscape welcomes a powerful new player with the debut of VVS, the trailblazing girl group making waves with their first EP, D.I.M.M. (Diamonds In My Mouth). Dripping in swagger, kinetic energy, and fearless self-expression, D.I.M.M. delivers a high-impact blend of Hip-Hop and R&B that introduces VVS as a force to be reckoned with.
The rollout began with a bang on April 7, when VVS dropped their cinematic ‘5 C’s Debut Trailer’, kicking off a ten-part series that featured origin animations and explosive teasers for each member. The action choreography for the series was helmed by Koji Kawamoto, known for his work on John Wick: Chapter 4.
VVS made their official debut on April 22 with the title track ‘TEA’, a hard-hitting visual continuation of their launch narrative, which has already amassed over 1.8 million views on YouTube. Alongside ‘TEA’, the B-side track ‘FACT$’ further cemented their talent and charisma, with the dance practice video surpassing 100,000 views. Their debut was met with intense media interest, garnering coverage from over 200 outlets, and concluded with a TikTok Showcase for their growing global fanbase.
On May 9, the group released ‘PURRFECT’, a fast-paced Hip-Hop track inspired by the popular video game Street Fighter, co-written by U.S. Billboard Hot 100 artist Lay Bankz. The accompanying music video has quickly surpassed 600,000 views, reinforcing the group’s international appeal.
The eight-track EP features an intro, an outro, interlude, and five full-length songs.
The centerpiece of the EP, the title track ‘D.I.M.M.’, is a declaration of identity, ambition, and homage. With lyrics chronicling VVS’s rise from a small label and their respect for the foundations of Hip-Hop, the track embodies their unapologetic style and bold direction. The production is a sonic nod to the late ’90s and early 2000’s Houston ‘Chopped & Screwed’ movement—complete with thunderous 808s, gritty vocal chops, and multilingual rap verses that bridge generations and geographies.
The group’s dynamic choreography adds to their impact, with routines crafted by top dance talents including Vata (We Dem Boyz) and Simeez for D.I.M.M. (Diamonds In My Mouth), as well as Ingyoo Kim (We Dem Boyz) and Hee Soo Song for ‘PURRFECT’.
With D.I.M.M., VVS makes a compelling case for their place in the global K-pop and Hip-Hop scenes—fearless, refined, and future-facing.
