Rapper-singer CAMO, hailing from South Korea, has released her highly anticipated mixtape Yours Truly on all digital streaming platforms. Following the success of her critically acclaimed debut album Pressure Makes Diamonds, being featured on Billboard’s “The 25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2023”, she is rapidly making a name for herself globally while pushing the boundaries of hip-hop and pop.
Yours Truly marks a bold new chapter in CAMO’s career, showcasing her versatility as she moves beyond her trap-heavy roots to explore genres like pop, drum & bass, and electronic. The mixtape’s focus track, “K-PACK”, is a powerful anthem where she delivers sharp lyrics and a bold attitude. The pre-released track “Only You,” featuring Leellamarz offers a playful twist on the classic JYP anthem by legendary K-Pop heartthrob RAIN. This light-hearted, bouncy love ballad showcases her lush melodies and pocket-hitting rap flow. CAMO debuted tracks from her mixtape during back-to-back concerts in Seoul on October 11 and 12. Shortly after the performances, she followed up with the release of the official music video for 'K-PACK,' offering fans a striking visual complement to the mixtape. The video features South Korean model and comedian, Hong Jin-kyung, known for her role as a host on the hit reality dating show Singles’ Inferno, making a special appearance in the music video with her THE KIMCHI brand. Set in a kimchi factory, the two engage in what appears to be a secretive exchange of spices.
After CAMO showcased her undeniable talent in the breakout hit “Life is Wet” featuring H1GHR Music’s JMIN, fans knew she was on the rise. Garnering nearly 25 million views, the track brought her into the spotlight, with collaborations like “Wifey” alongside Korean rap icon Simon Dominic, further solidifying her status as one of the rising stars in South Korea’s hip-hop scene.
