배우 톰 크루즈와 알레한드로 G. 이냐리투 감독이 영화 <디거(Digger)>로 한국 관객들을 만난다.

워너브러더스 코리아가 수입·배급하는 <디거>는 괴짜 재벌 ‘디거 록웰’이 운영하는 그린란드 빙하 시추 시설에서 시작된 작은 균열이 전 세계를 뒤흔드는 대재앙으로 번지며 벌어지는 이야기를 그린 작품이다. 톰 크루즈를 비롯해 산드라 휠러, 존 굿맨, 제시 플레먼스 등이 출연한다.

이번 작품은 <버드맨>, <레버넌트: 죽음에서 돌아온 자> 등을 연출한 알레한드로 G. 이냐리투 감독이 <레버넌트> 이후 기획에 돌입해 완성까지 약 10년의 시간을 들인 신작이라는 점에서도 관심을 모은다.

Tom Cruise and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu are set to meet Korean audiences with their upcoming film Digger.

Distributed in Korea by Warner Bros. Korea, Digger follows the aftermath of a small rupture at a Greenland ice drilling facility operated by eccentric billionaire Digger Rockwell, which soon escalates into a catastrophic disaster with global consequences. The film stars Tom Cruise alongside Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, and more.

The project has also drawn attention as Iñárritu’s long-awaited new feature, developed over the course of nearly a decade following The Revenant. Known for films such as Birdman and The Revenant, the acclaimed filmmaker returns with a story that blends large-scale disaster, dark comedy, and an unpredictable narrative.

At the center of the film is a catastrophe triggered by one man’s decision, unfolding through an unconventional character and a distinctly offbeat sense of humor. Combined with the sheer scale of a disaster threatening the entire world, Digger promises a cinematic experience designed for the big screen.
