앞서 윤심경 감독은 “영선은 겉으로는 아무렇지 않지만 속에는 들끓는 감정을 가진, 겉으로 봤을 때 단단해 보이는 인물이었으면 했다”며 “최명빈 배우의 사진 한 장을 봤는데 제가 원하는 모든 게 담겨 있었다”고 최명빈을 영선 역으로 캐스팅한 이유를 설명한 바 있다.

Approaching the project with the immense responsibility of carrying the title role, Choi Myung-bin focused heavily on character analysis to portray the three-dimensional inner life of Young-sun, a girl who longs for a family.
