세계적인 악기 브랜드 펜더(Fender) 대표 일렉트릭 기타 및 베이스 라인업인 ‘American Professional(아메리칸 프로페셔널)’의 새로운 시리즈를 공개했다.
이번 시리즈는 스트라토캐스터(Stratocaster), 텔레캐스터(Telecaster), 재즈마스터(Jazzmaster), 재규어(Jaguar), 프리시전 베이스(Precision Bass), 재즈 베이스(Jazz Bass) 등 펜더를 상징하는 모델들을 중심으로 구성됐다. 각 악기의 고유한 사운드와 정체성을 유지하면서 현대 연주자들의 요구에 맞춰 연주 성능과 편의성을 한층 강화한 것이 특징이다.
가장 주목할 변화는 새롭게 개발된 ‘V-Mod III’ 픽업이다. 균형 잡힌 출력과 선명한 음색, 섬세한 터치 반응을 구현하도록 설계됐으며, 모델별 특성에 맞춘 브릿지와 전자 회로 개선을 통해 더욱 폭넓은 사운드 표현이 가능해졌다. 여기에 인체공학적으로 설계된 넥과 부드럽게 마감된 프렛보드 가장자리를 적용해 장시간 연주에서도 편안한 연주감을 제공한다.
펜더 기타 및 베이스 부문 최고제품책임자 저스틴 노벨(Justin Norvell)은 이번 시리즈에 대해 기존 악기를 단순히 새롭게 보이도록 바꾸는 것이 아니라, 오리지널 디자인의 정체성을 지키면서 현대 연주자들에게 실질적으로 필요한 개선을 더하는 데 집중했다고 설명했다.
1946년 설립 이후 음악 산업의 변화를 이끌어온 펜더는 올해 창립 80주년을 맞았다. 이번 American Professional 시리즈 역시 브랜드가 오랫동안 이어온 장인 정신과 혁신의 철학을 바탕으로, 새로운 세대의 뮤지션들에게 확장된 음악적 가능성을 제시한다.
미국 캘리포니아 코로나에서 제작된 새로운 American Professional 시리즈는 현재 펜더뮤직코리아 공식 대리점을 통해 만나볼 수 있으며, 스트라토캐스터와 텔레캐스터, 프리시전 베이스, 재즈 베이스의 왼손잡이용 모델도 2027년 봄 출시될 예정이다.

Fender Unveils New American Professional Series, Continuing 80 Years of Innovation
Fender has unveiled the latest evolution of its iconic American Professional series, introducing an updated lineup of electric guitars and basses designed to meet the needs of today’s musicians.
The new collection features some of Fender’s most recognizable instruments, including the Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass. While preserving the distinctive sound and identity of each model, the updated series introduces refinements in performance, comfort, and versatility.
Among the key upgrades are the newly developed V-Mod III pickups, engineered to deliver balanced output, enhanced clarity, and responsive touch sensitivity. Redesigned bridges and improved electronics further expand tonal possibilities, while refined neck profiles and smoothly rolled fingerboard edges provide greater comfort during extended playing sessions.
Justin Norvell, Fender’s Executive Vice President of Product, emphasized that the evolution of these instruments is not simply about changing their appearance. Instead, the focus remains on preserving the qualities that made them iconic while introducing meaningful improvements that reflect the needs of modern players.
Founded in 1946, Fender celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, marking eight decades of influence on music and culture. The new American Professional series reflects the company’s continued commitment to craftsmanship and innovation, offering contemporary musicians new possibilities for creative expression.
Handcrafted in Corona, California, the new American Professional series is now available through authorized Fender Music Korea dealers. Left-handed versions of the Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are also scheduled for release in spring 2027.
