‘SEOUL 2 SOUL’

Berlin Meets Asia’s Underground: ‘LIVE FROM MARGINS’ Brings Eight Artists to Seoul on November 6
LIVE FROM MARGINS: FOUND FRIENDS LEG 2: ASIA – SEOUL 2 SOUL, a collaborative project connecting Berlin and Asia’s underground music scenes, is set to take place on November 6 at Blanksite (BBCB) in Itaewon, Seoul. The event brings together Berlin-based creative collective LIVE FROM EARTH and EASTERN MARGINS, a platform dedicated to emerging music and cultural movements across Asia, in collaboration with South Korean creative platform A MASS CULTURE.
Presented under the title SEOUL 2 SOUL, the event will feature eight acts representing diverse musical backgrounds across China, Germany, Japan, and South Korea. Spanning hardcore techno, rave, hyperpop, electropop, and underground hip-hop, the lineup reflects the increasingly interconnected nature of contemporary club music and independent creative communities.
Among the featured artists is Billionhappy, a prominent figure in China’s emerging underground music scene. Combining plugg, cloud rap, Chinese pop influences, and experimental sounds shaped by internet culture, Billionhappy has developed a distinctive musical identity that reflects the experiences and aesthetics of a new generation of Chinese artists. His work explores the intersection of local subcultures and global digital music trends, positioning him within the growing Nu China underground movement. Having collaborated with Australian producer Ninajirachi on the track “BiBi,” Billionhappy will make his Korean debut at the Seoul event.
Berlin-based DJ, rapper, and producer MCR-T will also join the lineup. A key figure within the LIVE FROM EARTH collective, MCR-T is known for blending Miami bass, ghettotech, hard techno, and hip-hop into high-energy club performances. His approach incorporates rap and electronic production, creating a sound closely associated with Berlin’s contemporary rave culture. Having performed at venues and platforms including Berghain and Boiler Room, MCR-T further established his musical direction with his 2024 album NOT THE SAME ≠. His upcoming Seoul appearance will introduce audiences to his distinctive combination of vocal performance and uncompromising dancefloor energy.
Representing South Korea’s evolving electronic pop scene is The Deep, an independent singer, songwriter, and producer whose music combines UK garage, Y2K nostalgia, and futuristic electronic textures. Through tracks such as “Angel Tattoo,” “Make Up,” and “BAPPI,” she has developed a recognizable sound that moves between experimental pop and underground club music.
Her debut full-length album, KPOP B!TCH, expands on this direction, incorporating elements of hyperpop and electronic music while retaining the emotional expression associated with K-pop. Completed in Los Angeles, the project features collaborations with international artists and producers including Frost Children, kimj, and Oscar Scheller. Beyond songwriting and production, The Deep takes a hands-on approach to mixing, artwork, video editing, and other creative elements of her releases. Following performances in New York, Los Angeles, and other international locations, her appearance at LIVE FROM MARGINS continues her growing presence across global electronic music communities.
Tokyo-based DJ rui, a member of Japanese girl group f5ve, will bring another dimension to the event. Expanding her creative identity beyond pop performance, rui explores the club-oriented side of contemporary pop through DJ sets that combine global pop, hyper edits, and high-energy electronic music. Her recent appearances at events including ULTRA JAPAN and the MARGINS UNITED afterparty have highlighted her developing presence in the international club scene. Through her DJ performances, rui connects the performance-driven aesthetics of J-pop with underground electronic music and contemporary fashion culture.
The lineup also features ETIC, a four-member creative collective operating at the intersection of electronic music, fashion, and visual culture. The group consists of Gas Girl, who leads its visual direction; Biohazard Girl, whose work incorporates tattoo art and culture; Bardosage, the collective’s main producer; and Xi, who oversees A&R. By combining distinct creative disciplines, ETIC approaches music as part of a broader visual and cultural identity rather than a standalone medium.
Producer and DJ audiogothh will contribute an experimental approach to sound and performance. Moving beyond conventional genre boundaries, audiogothh combines exploratory production with instinctive DJ selections, focusing on rhythm, unpredictability, and the relationship between recorded music and live performance. The artist’s work reflects a fluid connection between the studio and the dancefloor.
Jibin, the voice and a driving visual force behind Y2K92, will also appear at the event. Known for reshaping elements of electronic music and hip-hop into unconventional sonic forms, Jibin brings a distinctive creative perspective that balances familiar musical influences with experimental expression.
Completing the lineup is RiaPing, a multidisciplinary DJ whose musical background spans the underground scenes of Seoul, Los Angeles, Japan, and China. Beginning her career as a hyperpop and underground rap event coordinator in Seoul in 2023, she later moved into hardcore DJing while developing her skills in Los Angeles. Her sets blend hardcore techno, trance, gabber, drum and bass, hyperpop, and underground rap, reflecting the different musical cultures that have shaped her creative journey.
Beyond its diverse lineup, LIVE FROM MARGINS highlights the ongoing exchange between underground communities across different regions. From China’s internet-driven experimental hip-hop to Berlin’s rave culture and Asia’s emerging electronic pop movements, the event brings together artists whose musical identities reflect both local influences and global creative connections.
