A. 안녕하세요, 롤링스톤 코리아! 저는 무대 위에서 음악과 춤, 그리고 퍼포먼스를 함께 선보이는 것을 사랑하는 튀르키예 팝 아티스트 Edis입니다.
Q. 최근 매우 바쁜 일정을 소화하고 계신데요. Edis의 일반적인 하루는 어떤 모습인가요?
A. 공연이 없는 날에는 주로 스튜디오에서 작업하거나 회의를 진행해요. 매일 운동하는 시간은 꼭 챙기려고 합니다. 보통 일찍 하루를 시작하기 때문에 저녁에는 친구들과 식사를 나누고 일찍 잠자리에 듭니다.
Q. 당신의 성과는 이제 튀르키예를 넘어 세계로 뻗어나가고 있습니다. 베를린 롤라팔루자 공연부터 스페인어와 튀르키예어가 어우러진 곡 "Shouf Shouf"까지, 다음 행보는 무엇인가요?
A. 더 많은 국가, 더 다양한 무대에서 사람들과 깊이 공감하고 함께 즐길 수 있는 새로운 음악을 계속해서 선보이는 것입니다.
Q. 끊임없이 대중의 스포트라이트를 받는 것이 버겁게 느껴질 때도 분명 있을 텐데요. 그럴 땐 어떻게 극복하시나요?
A. 다시 제 자신 본연의 모습으로 돌아오려고 해요. 나라는 사람을 진정으로 잘 아는 이들과 시간을 보내며 삶의 균형을 찾습니다.
Q. 만약 어떤 아티스트와든 협업할 수 있다면, 누구와 함께하고 싶나요?
A. 저는 콜라보레이션 작업을 정말 좋아합니다. 언젠가 K-팝 아티스트나 그룹과 함께 음악을 만든다면 정말 멋진 작업이 될 것 같아요.
Q. 무대에 오르기 전에 반드시 거치는 자신만의 미신이나 루틴이 있나요?
A. 특별한 미신은 없지만, 무대에 오르기 직전에는 항상 몇 분간 혼자만의 조용한 시간을 가집니다. 가볍게 연습을 진행하며 마음을 가다듬는 편이에요.
Q. 가장 좋아하는 K-팝 아티스트는 누구인가요?
A. 저는 오래전부터 K-팝의 팬이었습니다. 예전에는 슈퍼주니어와 EXO의 음악을 정말 많이 들었어요. 지금도 여전히 K-팝 씬을 꾸준히 찾아보고 있습니다. 뛰어난 아티스트가 정말 많지만, 최근에는 블랙핑크의 "JUMP"라는 곡이 강력한 댄스 비트로 깊은 인상을 남겼습니다.
Q. 당신의 음악을 처음 접하는 리스너에게 추천하고 싶은 대표곡과 그 이유는 무엇인가요?
A. 주로 "Dudak"과 "Martılar"가 가진 에너지를 좋아해요. 두 곡 모두 중독성 있는 훅을 지니고 있어, K-팝 리스너분들도 충분히 즐겁게 공감할 수 있는 에너지를 담고 있다고 생각합니다.
Q. 오늘 롤링스톤 코리아 독자들에게 한 번도 밝히지 않았던 자신만의 비밀이나 특별한 재능을 공유해주실 수 있나요?
A. 거창한 비밀이나 재능이라 할 수 있을지는 모르겠지만, 저는 제가 머무는 공간의 에너지에 일종의 영향을 미치는 것 같아요. 갑작스러운 정전이나 기술적 오류 같은 것들 말이죠… 만약 이 현상을 제어하는 법을 체득하게 된다면 그때는 기꺼이 재능이라 부르고 싶네요.
Q. 이 질문을 빼놓을 수 없겠네요. 현재 플레이리스트 상단에 있는 곡은 무엇인가요?
A. 요즘은 마돈나의 "Danceteria"를 가장 자주 듣고 있습니다.

Q: Hello Edis! First of all, could you introduce yourself to the readers of Rolling Stone Korea? A: Hi Rolling Stone Korea. I'm Edis—a Turkish pop artist who loves bringing music, dance, and performance together on stage.
Q: We’ve been seeing you working at a very intense pace lately. So, what does a typical day in Edis’s life look like? A: If I'm not performing, I'm either in the studio or in meetings. I make time for working out every day, and in the evenings I usually have dinner with friends before calling it a night early, since my days always start early.
Q: Your achievements are no longer limited to Turkey, and you’re now opening up to the world! From Berlin Lollapalooza to “Shouf Shouf,” a song featuring both Spanish and Turkish lyrics, what’s next for you? A: More countries, more stages, and new music that people will hopefully connect with and enjoy.
Q: There are certainly times when constantly being in the spotlight can feel overwhelming. How do you cope with those moments? A: I find my balance by coming back to myself and spending time with the people who truly know me.
Q: If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be? A: I love collaborating, so wouldn’t it be amazing to make music with a K-pop idol or group one day?
Q: Do you have any superstitions or rituals that you never go on stage without doing? A: I don't have any superstitions, but I always like to spend a few quiet minutes by myself before I go on stage. I just do some practice, that’s all.
Q: Who are your favorite K-pop artists? A: I've been a K-pop fan for a long time. Back then I’ve listened to Super Junior, EXO a lot. And I still keep up with the scene today. There are so many incredible artists, but the last song that really impressed me was BLACKPINK’s “JUMP”—it’s such a powerful dance track.
Q: If you were to recommend one of your songs to someone listening to you for the first time, which song would you recommend and why? A: I love the energy of “Dudak” and “Martılar” mostly. They have both a catchy hook and an energy I think K-pop listeners would really connect with.
Q: Today, could you share a secret or talent about yourself that you’ve never told the readers of Rolling Stone Korea before? A: It's not exactly a big secret—and whether it's a talent is debatable—but I seem to affect the energy of the places I'm in. Power outages, technical glitches… If I ever learn to control it, I'll gladly call it a talent.
Q: Okay, I have to ask this too… Which song is currently at the top of your playlist? A: Lately, I've been listening to Madonna’s “Danceteria” the most.
