핀란드 출신의 세계적인 일렉트로닉 뮤지션 다루드(Darude)의 대표 이벤트 '샌드스톰 러닝(Sandstorm Run)'이 오는 2026년 8월 29일(토) 핀란드 헬싱키에서 개최된다. 

이번 행사는 지난해 첫 선보인 데 이어 규모를 더욱 확대해 시 전역을 아우르는 축제 형태로 진행된다. 참가자들은 2000년 발표된 'Sandstorm' 뮤직비디오의 실제 촬영지인 카이보푸이스토 공원(Kaivopuisto)과 헬싱키 대성당 등 헬싱키 중심가 7km 구간을 걷거나 달리게 된다. 

러닝이 끝난 후 오후 3시부터 8시까지는 다루드와 특별 게스트 DJ들이 참여하는 야외 콘서트가 개최되어 공원 전체가 대형 댄스플로어로 변신한다. 지난해 첫 행사에는 17개국 856명이 참가했으며, 올해 행사에는 이미 32개국 참가자들이 등록을 마쳐 약 2,000명 규모가 참여할 것으로 예상된다. 

다루드는 2000년 데뷔 싱글 'Sandstorm'으로 글로벌 히트를 기록하며 국제적인 입지를 다진 프로듀서다. 스포티파이 단일 플랫폼에서만 5억 회 이상의 스트리밍을 기록 중이며, 이번 러닝 이벤트는 그의 25주년 기념 'STORM 25' 월드 투어의 일환으로 기획됐다.

Darude's 'Sandstorm Run' Returns to Helsinki for 2026 with 7km Run and Concert

Finnish electronic music legend Darude's signature event, the 'Sandstorm Run', will return to Helsinki, Finland on Saturday, August 29, 2026. 

Building on the success of its debut last summer, the event returns as a city-wide celebration. Participants are invited to walk, jog, or run a 7km route through central Helsinki, passing iconic filming locations from the original 2000 'Sandstorm' music video, including Kaivopuisto Park and Helsinki Cathedral. 

Following the run, an open-air concert featuring headlines from Darude alongside special guest DJs will run from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. While the inaugural 2025 run welcomed 856 runners from 17 countries, the 2026 edition has already seen registrations from 32 countries, with around 2,000 participants expected to take part. 

Darude skyrocketed to international fame in 2000 with his debut single 'Sandstorm', which stands at over half a billion streams on Spotify alone. The Sandstorm Run event launched as part of his 25-year career celebration, the 'STORM 25' World Tour.
