'Bad Angel'

ANYMA Pushes The Boundaries of Live Music In the World of ÆDEN
Fresh off of his most ambitious headlining set yet at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, ANYMA stands at the forefront of the ever-evolving Electronic scene. From the Pyramids of Giza to the world's first hyperclub in Ibiza and even the Sphere in Las Vegas, the American-born Italian superstar has played it all.
After concluding the Genesys album trilogy at the end of 2025, ANYMA continues to expand his futuristic universe into the fully immersive audio-visual experience ÆDEN. Through cutting-edge sonic textures and groundbreaking special effects, the multidisciplinary artist creates a show that even once seen is too extraordinary to believe.
During Coachella, he upped the ante even more by bringing out an impressive cast of special surprise guests to live debut three collaboration tracks, including "Bad Angel" with the iconic LISA of BLACKPINK, "Beautiful" with the critically acclaimed singer Joji, and "Carrier of Souls" with Matt Bellamy, frontman of the English rock band Muse.
Right at the beginning of his tour, Rolling Stone Korea caught up with ANYMA to discuss the evolution of ÆDEN, the challenges of bringing it to life, and the force driving this chapter of his career.
[RSK] You are currently travelling around the globe for the 2026 ÆDEN WORLD TOUR. Since the Genesys album trilogy came to a close at the very end of 2025, which direction did you originally anticipate turning your creative process into next?
It has been a sort of evolution where each chapter leads me into the next. I am always thinking about the direction for the future, and in that sense, this new creative feels like more of a progression of the Genesys world than a departure from it. It all began with these core themes of past and future, humanity, and technology. I like to then experiment with different perspectives on that and see how I can explore those concepts from every angle. Even exploring where the Genesys characters are headed and where they fit into the journey. I am constantly thinking about the overall narrative, and that's when I started to launch ÆDEN.
**[RSK] Only a few days before Weekend 1, you officially announced the release of your collaboration track with LISA, "Bad Angel." How did the two of you first become acquainted, and in what ways did you feel like LISA's voice and performance abilities were able to bring your vision to life?**
LISA is an incredibly intentional and versatile artist. What she brought to "Bad Angel" was not only her voice, but a driving energy and sense of character. We actually met for the first time during last year's Coachella and had an easy, natural creative connection from the start. We knew we wanted to find a way to work together. The entire process was great - she's a true professional and I think we perfectly captured the balance between our worlds that I had envisioned for the track.
[RSK] The idea of revealing a brand new audio-visual show at a headlining Coachella set, especially one as ambitious as ÆDEN, sounds exciting but daunting at the same time. After unfavorable weather conditions on the first Friday, how were you and the team able to rally and come back even stronger for Weekend 2?
So much time and energy went into building up ÆDEN for the set and that debut moment. We obviously needed to prioritize safety above all, but having to cancel the set Weekend 1 was crushing for myself and the entire team. It was overwhelming, to say the least. But after that moment of shock, we needed to push through to stay determined and committed to keep that same level of energy throughout the week in order to come back with strength. I'm devastated that we couldn't bring ÆDEN to the fans who showed up for Weekend 1, but getting to perform the show as intended Weekend 2 felt truly triumphant and rewarding.
[RSK] In an effort to still make an unforgettable experience for fans, you teamed up with fellow DJ and producer Marlon Hoffstadt to do a surprise B2B set at the Do LaB stage that Sunday. With less than two days to prepare, what were the most important considerations you needed to have in mind?
I really wanted to find a way to bring some music to the fans who missed out on Friday's show, and I'm extremely grateful to Marlon for having me and giving me the opportunity to do exactly that with him. It was definitely a feat to pull together in time, but we wanted to create a high-energy experience to close out the weekend and blend our sounds together in an interesting way. The set was completely unique and obviously very different from ÆDEN, and it ended up being a very special moment.
[RSK] We heard that you get a lot of inspiration from the art of movie scoring and cinema as a whole. Would you consider the ÆDEN show a movie of the culmination of your career?
A lot of my inspiration comes from scores for film and gaming because of how immersive and emotionally textured those experiences can feel. I think, and hope, that you can sense those influences in ÆDEN because it does feel very cinematic and layered. In that way, the new show is certainly a culmination of everything I have done so far. It expresses the scale my ideas have grown to since their inception five years ago, and it truly reflects exactly where I am at creatively right now.
[RSK] You have previously mentioned a desire to "catch a feeling of something that's not been felt before by an audience" through your music and visual storytelling. Did that inclination form at a certain point in your time as an artist, or was this an innate longing that has always existed but now has a way to be expressed?*l
I think that desire has always existed in me in some form. Even very early on as a listener, I always searched for deeper understanding and achieving something indescribable through music. Over time, my inclination toward creating and performing grew as I realized how I could build those feelings through visuals and sound. The goal has never really been about creating spectacle for the sake of creating spectacle, but about the experience and passion of transporting an audience somewhere else.
[RSK] In 2024 and 2025, you made history as the first electronic music artist to hold a residency at the legendary Sphere in Las Vegas. How did the experience of designing visuals for such a large-scale venue push you to your creative limit?
The Sphere show was a huge creative undertaking because it set a new precedent for the scale that these productions can exist on. The amount of precision and immersion we were able to achieve in that space was truly amazing and extremely inspiring. It pushed us to think more deeply and comprehensively about everything. Having that opportunity to build an entire environment and carry out every detail as I saw it in my head, and then to share that with so many people, was surreal and represented a real breakthrough.
[RSK] On the topic of residencies, you recently announced your return to the world's first hyperclub, [UNVRS] Ibiza, for a full summer residency on Tuesdays from June to September throughout 2026. What are you most looking forward to about bringing ÆDEN to Spain?
Last year, I brought a special show to [UNVRS] that I was, and still am, very proud of. It's a really unique space and it's been exciting to get to use that to its fullest potential, to really get creative with the technology and the environment. This year, I am taking that to the next level by developing a version of the ÆDEN show for [UNVRS] that will allow me to express another side of that world. I'm also very excited about the guests I'll be having at the residency. The energy in Ibiza in the summer is always incredible, and I'm lucky to be able to put these shows on and share the stage with some of my favorite artists in the world each year.
