‘WHIB’: 큰 꿈을 가진 매력적인 보이 그룹, ‘Cut-Out’으로 데뷔한 휘브

RSK에서 독자들과 글로벌 K-pop 팬들에게 씨제스 스튜디오에서 최근 데뷔한 새로운 보이그룹을 소개하게 돼서 기쁩니다. 휘브(WHIB)라는 이름으로 완성된 재능 있고 매력적인 8명의 소년들은 최근 더블 타이틀 싱글 '컷-아웃(Cut-Out)'을 발표했으며, 이 싱글은 모든 음악 사이트에서 즐길 수 있습니다.



‘Cut-Out'은 휘브만의 사운드와 매력을 발산하는 두 개의 히트곡을 담고 있습니다: 'BANG!'과 'DIZZY'. 'BANG!'은 팝 댄스곡으로, 음악의 템포와 변화가 듣는 이를 즐겁고 신나게 만듭니다. 반면 'DIZZY'는 한층 신선하고 산뜻합니다. 두 곡 모두 역동적인 분위기로 이루어진 작품입니다. ‘Cut-Out'은 휘브를 세련되게 만드는 동시에 멤버들의 뛰어난 실력을 잘 표현한, 유쾌하면서도 자신감이 드러나는 좋은 앨범이며, 그들이 트레이닝한 시간과 헌신에 대한 공이자 증거입니다. 그리고 이는 멤버들이 존경하는 아티스트의 발자취를 따르고 K-pop 무대에서 두각을 나타내기 위한 계획과 열망을 보여줍니다.

RSK: 음악 애호가로서 재능있고 신나는 새로운 그룹과 음악을 알게 되고, 오늘 여러분과 이렇게 자리하게 되어 영광입니다. 데뷔도 축하드려요! 여러분들의 음악이 세상에 나온 기분이 어떤가요?

제이더 : 감사합니다. 데뷔한지 2주가 지났는데 연습하느라 잠잘 시간이 없네요. 하루하루가 너무 설레요. 연습생 때는 다른 아티스트들의 곡 커버를 많이 했는데 지금은 무대에서 활동할 수 있고 팬분들과 만날 수 있어서 행복해요. 앞으로도 마음의 평정심을 잃지 않고 열심히 하겠습니다.

재하: 저희는 오랜 시간 연습생 생활을 해왔고 이제는 저희만의 음악을 가질 수 있어서 굉장히 신납니다. 또, 팬들을 만날 수 있어서 아주 기쁩니다.




RSK: 독자들에게 각 멤버에 대해 소개해줄 수 있나요?

제이더 : 안녕하세요. 저는 휘브의 리더인 제이더입니다. 저는 댄스와 랩을 담당하고 있습니다. 감사합니다.

하승: 안녕하세요! 하승입니다. 저는 보컬 담당입니다.

진범: 안녕하세요. 멤버들 중 유일한E! 휘브의 활력소를 맡고 있고 보컬 포지션 진범입니다!

유건 : 안녕하세요, 저는 유건입니다. 저는 랩과 댄스 담당입니다.

이정: 안녕하세요. 저는 이정입니다. 저는 춤과 보컬을 맡고 있습니다.

재하: 저는 재하입니다. 저는 보컬 담당입니다.

인홍: 저는 인홍입니다. 저 역시 보컬을 맡고 있습니다.

원준: 안녕하세요. 저는 원준입니다. 저는 보컬이자 그룹의 막내입니다.




RSK: 밴드의 이름에 대한 것도 궁금해요. 그룹명과 음악 정체성에 대해 얘기해 주시겠어요?

이정 : ’휘브'는 화이트(WHITE)와 블랙(BLACK)의 합성어입니다. 저희의 다채로운 매력을 보여주기 위한 자신감을 표현했어요. 화이트와 블랙 사이에 존재하는 스펙트럼 중, 우리만의 색깔을 찾는 미션을 다루는 거죠. 우리의 다채로운 면과 경험, 그리고 이야기를 상징합니다. 데뷔 타이틀곡처럼 무대 위에서나 밖에서나 다양한 색깔을 보여줄 예정입니다.




RSK: 'Cut-Out'을 들을 수 있어서 정말 기뻤어요. 'BANG!'과 'DIZZY'는 둘 다 독특한 사운드를 지닌, 귀에 쏙쏙 들어오는 좋은 노래들이던데요. 여러분의 음악을 듣고 리스너들이 가져가기를 바라는 메시지는 어떤 것들인지 궁금합니다.

유건 : 저희의 첫 번째 싱글 앨범 'Cut-Out'은 여러가지 색의 도화지를 잘라 붙여 하나의 작품을 만들어 내듯, 여러 빛깔의 음악을 통해 WHIB만의 색을 가진 하나의 작품을 만들기 시작하겠다 라는 의미를 담고 있습니다. 특히 이번 더블 타이틀곡인 ‘BANG!’과 ‘DIZZY’는 중독성 있는 멜로디가 인상적인 곡들인데요, ‘DIZZY’ 제목처럼 모든 분들을 ‘WHIB’의 매력에 빠질 수 있도록 어지럽게 만들겠다는 저희의 자신감과 포부를 담은 곡입니다. ‘BANG!’은 ‘WHIB’의 찬란한 출발 신호를 알리는 곡인만큼, 저희의 시작을 함께 해 주신 것에 대해 후회 하시지 않게끔 진심을 다해 매 무대마다 열심히 할 예정입니다.





RSK: 팬들이 관심을 가질 만한 숨겨진 재능, 특기, 취미가 있나요?

원준: 저는 저글링 대회에서 상을 받은 적이 있어요. 유니사이클도 탈 수 있고요.

재하: 저는 8년 동안 피겨 스케이팅 선수였어요.




RSK: 휘브의 음악을 세 단어로 설명한다면요? 

인홍: 다채로움, 화이트/블랙, 매력.





RSK: 여러분의 꿈, 목표, 포부는 뭐예요?

재하: 아이돌로서 잘 해내고 싶고, 올해 신인상을 수상하고 싶습니다. 그리고 국내 음악 차트와 예능 등에서 활약하고 싶어요.




RSK: 이제 음악을 막 시작한 여러분을 지지하고 응원하는 팬들에게 전하고 싶은 메시지가 있나요?

하승: 팬들이 우리 음악과 퍼포먼스에 보내주는 사랑에 실망시켜드리지 않을 자신이 있습니다. 우리 휘브에게 눈을 떼지 말아주세요!




RSK: 마지막으로, 2024년에 어떤 것들을 계획하고 있나요?

제이더: 다음 앨범과 다양한 콘텐츠를 준비하고 있습니다. 많이 기대해 주세요.

 ‘WHIB’, a charming boy band with big dreams make their debut with ‘Cut-Out’

RSK are pleased to introduce readers and global K-pop fans to a new band that has recently debuted under CJeS Studios. The charming and talented eight-part boy band, styled under the name of WHIB, have recently released their double title single ‘Cut-Out’ which is now available to enjoy across all music platforms.



‘Cut-Out’ features two hit tracks, each with their own unique sounds and charms:   ‘BANG!’ and ‘DIZZY’. ‘BANG!’ is best served by the description of a pop dance track. The changes in tempo and whistling make the song exciting to listen to and easy to enjoy. ‘DIZZY’ by comparison is refreshing and upbeat. Together, these tracks are a dynamic piece of music making. ‘Cut-Out’ is a fun, confident example of music-making presenting the band as polished and beyond their years, a credit and testament to the considerable time and dedication involved in their training. It puts the band in good stead for their plans and desires to follow in the footsteps of artists they admire and make their mark on the K-pop scene.

RSK sat down with WHIB to learn more about the members and their music.




RSK: As a lover of music, it’s always really wonderful to learn of talented and exciting new bands/new music. It is an honour and a pleasure to speak with you today. Congratulations on having made your debut!  How does it feel to have your music out in the world for people to enjoy?

JAYDER: Thank you. It has been two weeks now since our debut and we don’t really have enough time to sleep as we are practising. Every day is exciting. When I was a trainee I did a lot of covers for songs by other artists, but now I am happy to be able to perform our songs on stage and to meet with fans. We will continue to do our best without losing our internal calm.

JAE-HA: We have been trainees for a long time and now we have our own music, it is very exciting. We are very happy to meet our fans.




RSK: Can you share with our readers a little bit about each member of the band and their role within the group?

JAYDER: Hello. I’m Jayder, and I’m the leader of WHIB. I’m in charge of dance and rap. Thank you.

HA-SEUNG: Hi! I’m Ha-seung. I’m part of the vocal team.

JIN-BEOM: Hello. I’m Jin-beom in the vocal position and I am the life of party in the team.

LEE JEONG: Hello I’m Lee Jeong and I’m the best dancer in WHIB. I’m also part of dance and vocals.

JAE-HA: I’m Jae-ha and I’m part of the vocal team.

IN-HONG: I’m In-Hong and I’m also part of vocals.

WON-JUN: Hello! I’m Won-jun. I’m part of the vocal team and the youngest member of the group.

U-GEON: Hello. I’m U-Geon and I’m part of the dance and rap team.




RSK: I’m interested to learn more about the story behind choosing WHIB as your band name. Can you share with our readers the meaning behind its selection and how it relates to your music and identity?

LEE JEONG: ‘WHIB’ is a compound word, a combination of WHITE and BLACK. It expresses the confidence [we feel] to show the colourful charms of our music. It covers our mission to find our own colours amongst the spectrum that exists between White and Black. It symbolises our many sides, our experiences and our stories. Like our debut title song, we will show diverse colours both on and off the stage.




RSK: I was really excited to listen to ‘Cut-Out. ‘BANG!’ and ‘DIZZY’ are both great songs which have their own unique sound, and are really catchy! I wonder if you might share with our readers some insights into the messages you hope listeners take away from your music?

U-GEON: Our first single album, [Cut-Out], means beginning to create a work with a unique color of WHIB through multi-colored music, just as we cut and paste assorted confetti. Our double title songs, "BANG!" and "DIZZY," are impressive songs with attractive melodies. Like the title of "DIZZY," it shows our confidence and ambition to make everyone dizzy so that people can fall into the charm of "WHIB." "BANG!" is a song that signals the start of "WHIB," so we will do our best so that fans don't regret beginning with us.




RSK: Do you have any hidden talents, skills or hobbies that fans might be interested to discover?

WON-JUN: I won a prize in a juggling competition, and I can also ride the unicycle.

JAE-HA: As for me, I was a figure skater for 8 years.




RSK: If you could describe your music in just three words, what would those be?

IN-HONG: Colourful. White/Black. Attractive.




RSK: What are your dreams, goals and future aspirations as a band?

JAE-HA: We hope to do well. We also would love to winning the Rookie of the Year award and 1st place in the music TV shows in Korea and Billboard Charts.




RSK: Do you have any messages to share with your supporters as you start out on your musical journey?

HA-SEUNG: We will make sure that our fans never regret loving our music or performances. Please keep your eyes on WHIB!




RSK: Finally, are you able to share with us a sneak-peek into what fans expect from you during the course of 2024?

JAYDER: We are working on our next album and various content. Please look forward to it.


RSK: We will! Your music is fun, entertaining and really nice to listen to so I’m sure this album will be a huge success, and the next one too. I look forward to hearing that you’ve won the Rookie Award - I’m certain the wait won’t be too long!
