오늘 (12일) 안테나 소속 싱어송라이터 샘김과 인도네시아 가수 라이사(Raisa)가 컬래버 음원 ‘Someday(썸데이)’를 발매하는 온라인 컨퍼런스에 참여했다.
이번 컨퍼런스는 인도네시아 현지에서 라이사가 대면으로 참여하고, 반면 샘김은 한국에서 모니터를 통해 모습을 비췄다.
신곡 ‘Someday’ 작업 과정에 대해 샘김은 ‘다른 아티스트와 여러 번 작업을 해보았지만 이렇게 인도네시아 아티스트와 작업하는 것이 이번이 처음이다. 팬데믹으로 인해 실제로 만날 수 없어서 온라인미팅으로 진행한 이번 작업에서 라이사와 처음 만나게 되어 기뻤다’라고 전했다. 라이사는 ‘온라인으로 만나서 작업을 해본 경험이 여러 번 있는데 샘김과는 정말 많은 이야기를 나누었다. 음악뿐만 아니라 개인적인 이야기를 나누면서 여러 가지 감정들을 얘기할 수 있어서 좋았다’라고 답했다.
덧붙여 샘김은 ‘이번 작업을 통해서 시나리오를 짜는 것처럼 라이사와 상황극을 많이 했다. 서로가 상대방 역할 또는 친구 역할을 해주면서 대화를 했는데, 이런 부분이 이번 신곡을 만들어가는 과정에서 큰 도움이 됐다’고 전했다.
이번 신곡 발매를 기념하여 한국과 인도네시아 전통음식을 요리하는 콘텐츠를 진행한 샘김과 라이사는 이번 컨퍼런스에서 해당 콘텐츠에 대한 티저영상을 공개했다. 공개된 티저에서 샘김은 인도네시아의 미훈 고랭을, 라이사는 한국의 잡채를 요리하는 모습을 보여주었으며 서로의 음식을 평가하는 모습까지 보여주었다.
한편, 이번 신곡 ‘Someday’는 추후 발매될 라이사의 4집 정규 앨범 'It’s Personal'의 수록곡으로, 샘김을 비롯해 싱어송라이터 적재도 작곡, 편곡에 함께 참여한 것으로 알려져 눈길을 끈다. 샘김과 라이사가 함께한 ‘Someday’의 뮤직비디오는 인도네시아 시간 오후 5시, 한국 시간 오후 7시에 라이사의 공식 유튜브 채널을 통해 공개됐다.

The release of, “Someday,” a collaboration track between Sam Kim, and Indonesian singer, Raisa.
Today, on the 12th, Antenna Music’s singer-songwriter Sam Kim, and Indonesian artist Raisa held an online conference to promote the release of their collaboration song, “Someday.”
The conference was held in Indonesia, where Raisa was able to attend, and Sam Kim made his presence through the screens remaining in Korea.
When asked about their new single, “Someday,” Sam Kim stated that he has “worked with many various artists in the past, but this was his first time working with an Indonesian artist.” Due to the pandemic, it was very difficult for them to meet physically to work together, yet Sam was still joyous about having to work with Raisa online. Raisa stated that, “Though I have worked many times with artists online, I was able to have a lot of conversations with Sam. We talked about music, and personal things, which made it enjoyable for us to open up about ourselves.”
Sam also added, “We reenacted scenes and created scenarios as if we were writing a script. We acted and talked as if we were the other person, or as if we were a close friend. This sort of working process really helped us to make the song.”
In commemoration of the release of their new song between Sam and Raisa, a sneak peek was released at the conference, which showed the two artists having a cook-off. Sam made Mi Goreng, a traditional Indonesian dish, while Raisa made Japchae, a traditional Korean dish. Both artists would then rate each other’s dishes.
This new song, “Someday,” will be in Raisa’s 4th album, “It’s Personal,” which will be released in the future, and has already been gaining attraction due to Sam Kim and singer-songwriter Jukjae’s participation in both producing and arranging. The music video for the song, “Someday,” featuring both Sam Kim and Raisa will be released on Raisa’s official YouTube channel at 5 p.m. in Indonesia and 7 p.m. in Korea.
