그룹 방탄소년단(BTS)의 진이 미국 뉴욕의 대표 랜드마크 엠파이어 스테이트 빌딩을 환하게 밝혔다.

진은 21일(한국시간), 뉴욕에서 열린 엠파이어 스테이트 빌딩 점등식에 참석해 자신의 두 번째 솔로 미니 앨범 ‘Echo’의 발매를 기념했다. 이번 점등은 앨범의 메시지를 기념하기 위해 기획됐으며, 건물은 Echo의 주요 테마 색인 블루, 핑크, 옐로우, 화이트로 물들었다.

진은 “이곳에 서 있으니 음악이 마음을 밝히는 것처럼, 엠파이어 스테이트 빌딩도 뉴욕을 밝히는 존재처럼 느껴진다”며, “블루는 희망, 핑크는 사랑, 옐로우는 기쁨, 화이트는 새로운 시작을 상징한다. 이 색들을 통해 우리가 함께 나누는 꿈과 메시지가 멀리 퍼져 울리기를 바라는 마음을 담았다”고 전했다.

이어 그는 “항상 제게 영감과 힘이 되어주는 아미(ARMY) 여러분께 감사드린다. 여러분이야말로 전 세계에 울려 퍼지는 ‘에코(Echo)’ 그 자체였다. 모든 것은 여러분의 사랑 덕분에 가능했다”고 팬들에게 고마운 마음을 전했다.

이날 진은 Echo의 타이틀곡 ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’의 라이브 무대도 깜짝 선보였다. 뉴욕 시내를 배경으로 펼쳐진 진의 무대에 현장을 찾은 수많은 팬들이 환호로 화답했다.

한편, 진은 22일 미국 NBC의 인기 토크쇼 ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’에 출연하며, 23일에는 뉴욕에서 팬들과 만나는 특별 이벤트 ‘Hi-Seokjin’을 진행할 예정이다.

BTS member Jin lit up one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks, the Empire State Building.

On May 21 (KST), Jin attended a lighting ceremony held at the Empire State Building to celebrate the release of his second solo mini-album, Echo. The event was designed to honor the album's message, with the building illuminated in Echo’s signature colors—blue, pink, yellow, and white.

"Standing here, I feel that just as music lights up our hearts, the Empire State Building shines brightly over New York," Jin said. “Blue symbolizes hope, pink symbolizes love, yellow represents joy, and white stands for new beginnings. I chose these colors in hopes that the dreams and messages we share will echo far and wide.”

He added, “Thank you to ARMY, who are always my inspiration and strength. You are the very echo that resonates around the world. Everything was possible because of your love.”

Jin also surprised fans with a live performance of Echo’s title track, "Don’t Say You Love Me." With the New York City skyline as his backdrop, the crowd erupted in cheers at the sound of his voice.

Meanwhile, Jin is scheduled to appear on NBC’s popular late-night program, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, on May 22, and will meet fans at a special event titled "Hi-Seokjin" in New York on May 23.
